WORKSHOPS

AIMS:

Apprentice, Internships, Mentors, Support

The one-size-fits-all system doesn’t fit all. Despite the best intentions and hard work of our public education system, it cannot often provide personalized support and real-life experiences, especially for marginalized and alternative students. Enter Cada Casa’s AIMS program. By providing personalized apprenticeships, internships, mentorships, or just support, we help learners of all ages progress in their passion exploration. At times this looks like a formal mentor with structured (and paid) meetings that provide the opportunity for the apprentice to see how the process of a professional project. Other times, it’s just loaning out the equipment needed for an artist to be able to explore the next step. Sometimes you just need a little help getting your business off the ground and don’t know where to start. Regardless, we are here to support our community.

APPAREL DESIGN

An in-school CadaCasa-supported club aimed at exploring a new-age approach to fashion design, revolving around the use of imagination and retired garments. Students will explore the fashion design process through the use of common tools, basic sewing, embroidery, and screen printing. After exploring a variety of techniques, students may choose to follow the screen printing or sewing pathway. From there, students can explore the photography, filmography, and content creation that goes into modern marketing. .
